About Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient therapy based on the premise that all areas of the body are reflected on the feet and the reflexologist's trained hands work to address any imbalances using a controlled pressure on the feet, sometimes on the hands, working on areas called reflex points.Reflexology promotes deep relaxation throughout the body (having an effect on the circulatory and nervous system) thus restoring the body back to it's natural state of wellbeing and stimulating the body's own healing mechanism. Reflexology treats the whole person not just the symptoms and will give you what you need during your course of treatments. You may decide just to have the occasional treatment for that wonderful feeling of relaxation and wellbeing. For any ongoing issues you may need several treatments and this will be discussed at your first appointment.
Reflexology can be carried out alongside most medicines prescibed by your GP and a full medical history will be taken at your first consultation to ensure the right approach is taken to your particular condition.
People of any age, from babies to the elderly may benefit. An increasing number of people are using this safe, natural therapy as a way of relaxing, balancing and harmonising the body.
Many private health schemes now provide assistance paying for reflexology treatments if the reflexologist is registered with the Association of Reflexologists (which I am!). The limit the company will pay depends on the plan you have so please call your insurance company to ask for details.
Please call or email to discuss your expectations and I can guide you through a typical reflexology session and bring a large amount of expertise to help you in your particular circumstances.
Reflexology does not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe.
