Preconception

Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to get pregnant easily and this often brings much heartache. Reflexology brings a truely holistic approach that allows each aspect that may be affecting this situation to be explored. I'm proud to say I have witnessed many positive outcomes following my reflexology and lifestyle programme where clients are not only truely achieving their ambition of being a parent but are often fitter, healthier and more aware of how to achieve a more positive outlook both mentally and physically.

Having established a good reputation in this area I am able to support you through this time.  Having trained with the renowned Suzanne Enzer's Maternity Reflexology Programme I bring an in depth knowledge as well as 22 years of experience to the areas of preconception, pregnancy and the post-natal period.

Additional training ensures that I'm kept up to date with fertility issues thereby ensuring my clients get the best approach to this issue.

Stress in relation to Fertility

Stress is a complex condition which affects almost all parts of the body in some way.  There is also evidence to suggest that it may affect fertility.  Cortisol, a hormone released in response to stress, can cause the release of an inhibiting hormine that reduces the production of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinising Hormone (LH). Both of these hormones are integral to the release of the egg and the implantation of embryo after fertilisation.  In other words, feeling stressed may be detrimental to the chances of achieving a successful pregnancy.  Reflexolgy is renowned for it's ability to relax, calm and restore thereby helping to address any underlying issues of stress. If necessary wecan discuss ways of addressing the issue of stress through lifestyle and relaxation techniques.

If you are trying to conceive, reflexology can help support you and your partner both physically and emotionally - whether you have just starting trying to conceive or have been trying for a while.

If you have been given a clearly defined diagnosis and are offered treatment, you will probably want to go head and take that option.  Reflexology can often support you through this. However, if you are given the diagnosis of unexplained infertility, this can be frustrating with no clear problem to focus on nor a clear way forward. You may still be offered medical treatment but may decide to allow the natural route more time.  This will be a personal decision, often based on the age of the female partner.

Whatever happens you may find that you and/or your partner would value support at this time, both on a physical and an emotional level.  Having reflexology will provide you with a way to relax and reduce stress.  This in itself can be beneficial for conception with reflexology allowing time out for yourself.  A listening ear can also be very beneficial and my reputation in this field is comprehensive, sympathetic and truely holistic.
